In GratitudeWe thank Chama Valley Arts for renewing their sponsorship
During summers, CVA offers exciting experiences for children, including HeartStrings Summer Camp and Missoula Children’s Theater. Youth opportunities during the school year include Storytime at the library, sewing classes, dance classes and Fun Fridays, which bring our local schoolchildren in for art activities once a month. Programs for adults include ceramics classes, writer’s workshop, yoga, watercolor, music jam sessions and more. The center offers a warm and welcoming environment for children and adults alike, where creativity and self-expression are encouraged and nurtured.
Our biggest event during the year is the Chama Valley Art Festival and Studio Tour, now in its 18th year, which promotes local and regional artists and craftspeople. It has become a Labor Day weekend tradition for the Rio Chama valley, and draws attendees from far and wide. The Studio Tour spans much of the Rio Chama valley, and brings participants to the studios of local artists to view and purchase their work. Participating in the Studio Tour truly reveals the beauty of our visually stunning area to visitors and residents alike. Visit https://www.chamavalleyartfest.org/ The goal of Chama Valley Arts is to foster creativity and learning, while building a vibrant community through the power of arts and culture. We welcome all of our community members to come experience what CVA has to offer! Chama Valley Arts is located at 278 Maple Ave in Chama. Delaying tick removal to get help from a healthcare provider could increase your risk of contracting a disease spread through tick bites, known as tickborne diseases.

Countless visitors from all over the United States come to Ghost Ranch every year, either to spend a few weeks during the summer, staying at a cabin and participating in one of the many programs offered, or for a day of outdoor adventure when they’re driving by on Hwy 84. For many of us who live in or around Abiquiú, Ghost Ranch evokes recollections of exceptional hikes. I’ll never forget the first time I made it to the top of Kitchen Mesa, all by myself, and the exhilarating views that took my breath away.
A little while back, I wrote a style guide called How to Dress Yourself More Better for Tango, My Man—and Also for Life. It wound up being controversial, especially (or entirely) among men.
I’ve seen very few fatally over-watered garden plants in New Mexico. It tends to occur with new plantings, a time of more enthusiastic watering, but even then it seems limited to ‘touchy’ desert plants - young yucca and native sagebrush, for example. What I do see is a lot of is chronically under-watered plants
Found in dry, sandy, gravelly areas
