When it launched in January of 2013, its initial readership was 187. We currently send the news out weekly to over 1800 subscribers. This was thanks to word of mouth and the value of having one centralized media platform for our rural communities.
The past three years we've kept our rural communities informed on vital information effecting them at the local level - Covid, including testing and vaccines. In 2022 when the Midnight Fire threatened El Rito we provided up to date information on the fire perimeter and evacuation status.
Our website, AbiquiuNews.com, provides news, events, lodging listings, support for local artists, dining options, area activities and a whole lot more that allows you to connect and support each other.
• The Abiquiu News reaches Abiquiu, surrounding communities and folks interested in all things “Abiquiu.” It just keeps growing!
• The Abiquiu News has helped local businesses get their message out to the community and beyond. You love it because it works! As well as locals our website and newsletter is consulted by people planning a visit to Abiquiu, who stay in town for days or weeks, or plan on relocating.
