Santa Fe, NM – The Food Depot, Northern New Mexico’s Food Bank, regrets to announce that federal funding supporting the Regional Farm to Food Bank (RF2FB) program has been terminated, despite an initial extension, effectively bringing the federally funded program to an end.The RF2FB has been instrumental in connecting New Mexico farmers, ranchers, and food producers to the state’s food bank network. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) termination of federal funding creates uncertainty for local food producers who sell to food banks and reduces access to locally grown food statewide. Books-by-Mail delivers books to rural residents of New Mexico who do not live near a State Library Rural Bookmobile stop or a public library. The service is also available to New Mexico residents who are homebound because of a physical disability and unable to visit a local library, or who can only read large print books due to a visual disability. The New Mexico Acequia Association is accepting applications through March 31st to its Youth Leadership Program, for ages 14~19, that will take place May to August, 2025. Click here for more details and to apply. The library has teamed with Driving Tests, an online resource for learning and practice tests for driver's licenses. The library is now part of the Smith's Inspiring Donations program. Scroll to the bottom of the Donate page for information. We’ll learn to pluck the threads that connect unrelated ideas, in order to mine new depths in our writing. This generative workshop, Casa Urraca Press's most popular offering to date, requires no formal training and strengthens writers of all genres. (We will focus on short poetry in order to gain functional practice in a two-hour course. The skills practice can apply to all forms of creative writing.)

DesroDesro is a dashing all-black, two-year-old house panther with a heart as big as his curiosity, and offset ears as unique as his story. Desro’s journey unfortunately included a major rough patch: he came to the shelter with a broken jaw and a completely degloved chin. But thanks to some superheroes in scrubs, masterful surgery, and plenty of TLC in foster care, Desro is back to being an affection afficionado who conducts masterful purr symphonies, and his playful side is now a pro at pouncing, zoomies, and toy hunting — he also enjoys playing with other cats!
