This time of year people are thinking of getting a new computer. I don't have great advice on that, as I am fairly indifferent. My computer is a motherboard I got for $10 at Goodwill, a nice solid state drive, and as much memory as it will take.
Still, you should be somewhat informed. I don't recommend buying a computer just based on price alone, so I found a good article from Consumer Reports that was well thought out. It's included HERE. I don't have any brand loyalty, though if you want a Mac there's only one brand. For a PC, the market is ginormous. It helps to figure out what you want from a computer and then what type you want. The link above can help. What Carol always says is to buy the best you can afford, so it will last a while. That's not always easy, but it can make your overall experience better in the long run.
