Scan from your iPhone or Android

There are a couple of reasons you might want to scan something with your phone, rather than just take a picture of it. A scan will simply look better, but also, if you have some photos you want to digitize, an easy way to do that would be to scan them with your phone. 
The iPhone comes with a scanning feature embedded in the Notes app. You can read about that HERE. If you are familiar with Notes, then hit the '+' key and select Scan Documents. It's pretty straightforward.

Scanning a photograph is similar, but different. You can just take a picture of it, but to really capture it well, there are some other steps, and even some specialized apps. A link to some simple and free methods already on your phone are HERE.
